Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Premium Pixels & Exclusive Domains

This section addresses common questions about our advanced tracking solutions, including Exclusive Domains and Premium Pixels.

Q: Can I still use existing pixel setups from Everflow's postbacks? A: No, you must remove any existing pixels from Everflow's postback configurations. Failing to do so will result in duplicate reporting of conversions to your ad platforms, leading to inaccurate data.

Q: Can I continue to pass parameters in the Everflow tracking URL? A: Yes! Even though the parameters may not always be visible in the browser's URL bar after a redirect, they are still logged and accessible within Everflow's click, event, and purchase data. For example, if you pass sub1 in your Everflow tracking URL, it will be recorded under the sub1 field in Everflow, and often also mapped to a parameter like utm_medium in the redirected URL.

Q: What standard events are fired to ad platforms? A: There are seven standard Everflow events that are configured to fire into all integrated ad platforms. (Note: The naming conventions for these events might vary slightly on different ad platforms, but the functionality remains consistent.)

We also pass the Everflow Transaction ID with every Facebook event to enable more precise analysis and deduplication.

Q: Will all of my conversions track in Everflow as usual? A: Absolutely! Everflow will continue to track all your conversions as it did previously. Furthermore, with our Premium Pixels solution, conversions are now fired via both client-side pixels and server-side events, ensuring maximum conversion accuracy and that no conversion is ever missed.

Q: How do I handle multiple Facebook Value-Based Bid (FBV) amounts for a single offer? A: While dynamic FBV functionality is on our future roadmap, the current workaround is to request an additional core domain from your Account Manager. This will allow you to create a separate Exclusive Domain specifically for managing a different FBV value.

Q: Why is GiddyUp’s CAPI (Conversions API) solution superior to those offered by Everflow or other ad tracking platforms (e.g., RedTrack)? A: Our primary goal is your success, which is why we've invested significant effort into developing an industry-leading tracking solution:

  • Dual Pixel Firing: Following Facebook's best practices, GiddyUp fires both the client-side pixel and the server-side pixel for comprehensive data capture.

  • High Event Match Quality (EMQ): We send as much relevant data as possible to Facebook to ensure a high EMQ. A higher EMQ is crucial because only matched events can be used for ad attribution and optimization, directly impacting your campaign performance.

  • Automatic Deduplication: Our solution includes built-in, automatic deduplication of client-side and server-side pixel fires, preventing inflated conversion counts.

  • Proven Results: Marketing Partners utilizing our recommended solution consistently observe 90%+ match rates for Purchase Events in Facebook, aligning closely with actual conversions reported in Everflow.

Q: Are there any restrictions on Exclusive Domain naming conventions? A: The aim is to maintain a consistent and consumer-friendly funnel experience. Therefore, we recommend using your Facebook Page Name as the "Marketer Name" within your Exclusive Domain URL. Please be aware of the following exclusions for domain names (this is a sample list, not exhaustive):

  • Special Characters: Characters such as ()-.! are not allowed.

  • Generic Terms: Avoid generic names like official (kailo.official.com), product (kailo.product.com), or single letters (kailo.a.com).

  • References to GiddyUp: Any terms referring to GiddyUp, such as giddy or giddyup (kailo.giddy.com), are prohibited.

  • Custom Situations: If you have a unique naming requirement, please discuss it with your Account Manager for approval.

Q: What if I use multiple Marketer Names? Do I need separate URLs for each? A: This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please consult with your Account Manager for approval.

Q: If my ad account is banned or goes down, will I need a new Exclusive Domain? A: This situation will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your Account Manager for guidance.

Q: How are listicles supported with Exclusive Domains? A: As long as your tracking links are correctly placed within the listicle content and direct users to an Exclusive Domain for each offer, listicles will function seamlessly as they have in the past.

Q: Are GiddyUp-hosted advertorials supported? A: Yes! Our new Exclusive Domain format fully supports all of our GiddyUp-hosted advertorial domains.

Q: Are Exclusive Domains available for non-Facebook traffic sources? A: Yes! While initially optimized for Facebook, our Exclusive Domain solution is available to all Marketing Partners regardless of their traffic source. However, approval for non-Facebook partners will be on a case-by-case basis. If you are a non-Facebook partner interested in an Exclusive Domain, please discuss it with your Account Manager.

Q: What should my Event Match Quality (EMQ) score typically be? A: Generally, we observe Non-Purchase Events achieving an Event Match Quality score of approximately 6.1, while Purchase Events typically reach a higher score of about 9.3.

Q: Can I update my Facebook domain verification TXT record after it’s been added? A: Yes! If you need to enter a new TXT record for any reason, simply return to the Facebook pixel management screen for your desired domain in Everflow and navigate to the "Still need to verify your domain click here" option to update it.

Q: How do "Off-Platform" offers work (offers not run through GiddyUp domains)? A: Each Off-Platform Offer is unique, and your Account Manager will provide specific guidance for each individual offer.

Q: What should I do if I encounter any issues? A: Your dedicated Account Manager is your primary point of contact for any questions, concerns, or issues you may encounter.

Q: Can you provide more information on iOS 14.5 updates and their impact on Facebook advertising? A: Yes, for a deeper dive into iOS 14.5 and its implications for Facebook, please refer to the following resources:

Q: Can I use Everflow’s native Facebook solution for server-side events? A: While Everflow does offer the ability to fire server-side Facebook events (using Facebook’s Conversions API) in addition to standard Everflow events, their system is best suited for individual marketers who generate 100% of the traffic to a particular domain. It is not suitable for a shared network model like GiddyUp, due to Facebook's privacy-related restrictions.

  • Facebook's Restrictions: In response to Apple's privacy changes, Facebook has significantly limited the number of Facebook pixels/events that can fire on a top-level domain. A maximum of 8 pixel/event pairs are allowed, and the domain owner determines their priority. Furthermore, if a user has opted out of tracking on the Facebook app for iOS, only 1 pixel/event will fire for them. Server-side events are also subject to these restrictions. Campaigns firing pixels/events not on the approved list will be suspended by Facebook.

  • Network Compatibility: Everflow's native system does not circumvent these rules. Therefore, for a network like GiddyUp with numerous Marketing Partners, allowing individual partners to run Facebook traffic on our standard offer domains would lead to chaos and widespread campaign shutdowns due to exceeding Facebook's event limits. Our Premium Pixel solution is designed specifically to navigate these complexities for a shared network environment.
