Ensure your pixels are firing correctly by using browser tools, simulating conversions, checking for duplicate fires, verifying parameters, and comparing results with postback data.
Use Browser Pixel Helper Extensions
Chrome extensions like the Facebook Pixel Helper, Google Tag Assistant, and TikTok Pixel Helper allow you to inspect the pixels present on a webpage, see which events are firing, and identify any errors.
Simulate Conversion Events
Go through the entire conversion flow (from clicking your tracking link to reaching the confirmation page) yourself while having the pixel helper extension active. Verify that the correct pixels and events are firing on the appropriate pages.
Check for Duplicate Fires
The pixel helper tools can also help identify if a pixel is firing multiple times on a single page load.
Verify Parameter Values
For conversion events with values or other parameters, check in the pixel helper that these values are being passed correctly.
Test Different Browsers and Devices
While browser extensions are helpful, it's also a good idea to test the flow on different browsers and devices to ensure broad compatibility.
Review Ad Platform Diagnostics
Ad platforms often have their own diagnostic tools within the event manager or pixel overview that can highlight potential issues with pixel implementation or firing.
Compare Pixel Data with Postback Data
Once you have both pixels and postbacks set up, monitor the conversion data in Everflow and your ad platforms to identify any significant discrepancies that might indicate a problem with your pixel setup.
